As per my assessment, west sees every philosophy or religion as whether they have any concern about the accumulation of wealth or economic disparity in their very fundamental philosophies or not. If any religion that emphasize the economic or social equality, they see that as the threat to their authority which is helping them to protects their vested interests.
The philosophies whether they nourished or getting slander is only depends on the very idea they have on economic or social inequality. The mankind always survived by the exploitation over the other living beings. If any concept is against this exploitation against the fellow human beings at least, they are being opposed here vehemently.
Islam emphasizes the equality at least philosophically, whereas the other religions does not emphasize it to the degree it is mandated as one of the core philosophy in Islam. Religion like Hinduism demands social inequality as the mandated nature of the society and created supporting systems to protect the very idea of it.
